This article will show you how to setup the DNR list. Contacts that are on this list will not be able to create a reservation into your system.
First, add the DNR contact category in Settings > Contacts > Add Category
You can copy the info below then click “Save”
Now the DNR list should be displayed in your Contact Categories in Settings > Contacts
Now, navigate to Settings > Car Rental > Advanced >”Do Not Rent” section
Contact Category for DNR – Select here the “DNR list” category you just created.
Fields to Search on DNR – You can select which fields to search to trigger the DNR function.
Disable Public Bookings for Customers in the DNR List? – Set this to Yes so customers on the DNR list are not able to make a booking.
You can now add contacts to the DNR list. Navigate to Dashboard > under Contacts > Customers
Click the box beside the Customer’s name, click the Hamburger button in the corner then click Move Contacts
Choose Move Contacts to new Category, then select DNR List from the dropdown field.
You have successfully included a contact in the DNR List.

If one of the customers from your DNR List tries to reserve from your public link/website, this is what will be displayed:
If a staff tries to book it in the back-end, this is the alert message the system will show:
Add a DNR comments section
The system allows you to add a custom field on the DNR section on Return step of the reservation process. This way you can add comments with regards to moving the driver to the DNR list or set reasons depending on the field you choose. Please follow the steps below to set up a comment section.
Navigate to your settings.
Navigate to the contacts section located in your settings.
From the contacts section navigate to the DNR list and click on it as shown in the picture below.
Inside the new category navigate to the fields tab, and here create a new section by dragging and dropping the section item to the left on the form.
Next, you will need to create a column in that section by dragging and dropping it the newly created section.
Next, add a text area field by dragging and dropping it on the form.
Note: You can also use Text field, or a drop-down field and set predetermined reasons.
Next, select the settings icon to update the label of the field and press the save button at the bottom of the settings modal.
You can now add a label to the field, and also a hint for operational purposes which will display on a tool tip by the field.
Make sure to scroll down and click on the “Save” changes button to keep the modifications.
Once saved, your DNR comments section will display on the form as shown on the image below:
Now, navigate to Settings >Car Rental> Car Rental Settings >Advanced tab as shown in the image below.
In the advanced section, we will need to navigate to the Do Not Rent section, and then select the new field created in the “Contact Field for DNR Comments” as shown in the image below.
Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the blue “Save” button to keep the changes.
Navigate back to the reservations table.
Click on any open reservation in a “Rental status”.
Once inside the reservation, navigate to step 9 as shown in the image below.
On the return step (Step 9), Enable the “Move to the DNR list”, and now you can add comments. Once the button has been enabled and the information has been filled the return can be confirmed. See more in the image below.
