4.27 Maintenance Types

This is an overview of how to configure Maintenance Types within the HQ system. You can configure different types of alerts and make them apply to specific vehicle classes and types.

Maintenance Schedules

You can create a Maintenance Schedules for each service that your vehicles need to keep them in top shape so you can prolong their lifespan and protect your investment. These are the steps you need to follow.

Step 1:

Browse into the Settings → Fleet → Maintenance → Maintenance Types tab. There, you can create a new Maintenance Type by clicking the button marked in the image below.

Step 2:

Next, a window will appear with all the options for the new Maintenance Type. In the General section, you can name it, make it apply to a particular vehicle class or type. So, for example, you can create alerts for an Oil Change every 5000 miles your SUVs, tire pressure check every 15 days for your bikes, and a Motor Service for all your boats every 1 week of rental days. The Days for Maintenance field represents the number of days the vehicle will be in maintenance.

Step 3:

In the Default Settings, you also have the option to set a default value for parts and labor if the cost is already known and the Default Repair Type for the corresponding repair order. If you want to know more about Repair Orders click here.

Step 4:

Next,  you can also send notifications to users in your system if maintenance is due and draft the template to be sent for this purpose in the Email section.

Step 5

Click ‘Save’ to complete the setup. You will now see the new Maintenance Types on the list.
