7.13 Multiple Languages Setup

This article is a breakdown on how to set up the system to be able to show multiple languages during the reservation process and in the system itself. The system uses google translate’s API for the translation and certain translations may be wrong. If that happens, do contact us at [email protected] and let us know which of the translations are wrong. By default, the system has these 4 languages;  English, Portuguese, Dutch, and Spanish built into. If you would like another language that is not any of these 4, kindly also contact us at [email protected] There are only certain fields that you can manually change the language for. These are Form Fields, Rental Agreements, Step Labels, Labels for Fleets and some Miscellaneous items.

Form fields

Step 1

Find out the handle of the field that you want to change the language for by heading to where you created it. In this example, we will use the contact field “First Name” which can be found in Settings > Contacts > Fields highlighted in dark blue and orange in the picture below.

The handle is the name located in between “{” and “}” which in this example is “{first_name}”.

Step 2

Navigate to the field settings by going to Settings > Items > Fields highlighted in dark blue in the picture below.

These tabs will differ depending on what language you want in the system. The “label” is what will show in the system and the hint will appear when you hover your mouse over the “question mark” icon next to the field. The picture below shows an example of a hint highlighted in orange in the picture below.

Step 5

Once you are done changing the translation, click on the blue “Save” button, highlighted in orange in the picture below.

Rental Agreement

Step 1

Navigate to Settings > Car Rental > Car Rental > Rental Agreement tab > Rental Agreement Section Titles section or Rental Agreement Field Labels or Rental Agreement Text Settings section as shown in the picture below.

You will notice that unlike that in the Rental Agreement Text Settings where there are the different language tabs, Rental Agreement Section Titles and Rental Agreement Field Labels do not have it the different tabs. Therefore, to change the language or to make it “bilingual” you will need to add in the second language yourself to the fields.
